On World Patient Safety Day 2025, JIMS Hospital organized a special awareness session on 17th September 2025 on the theme “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child”. The program focused on strengthening the culture of safety in healthcare delivery and highlighted the global commitment to reducing preventable harm.
The session was inaugurated by Dr. J. Srikanth, Deputy Medical Superintendent, who emphasized the importance of empowering patients and families as active partners in safe healthcare practices. Senior doctors Dr. A. Srinadh Babu and Dr. M. Naveen Kumar delivered insightful talks on the importance of adherence to safety protocols, effective communication, and near-miss reporting. A special presentation on newborn and child safety, aligned with this year’s slogan “Patient Safety from the Start!”, was delivered by medical officers Dr. Shivani, Dr. Krishna Prasanna, and Dr. Eshwar, focusing on infection prevention, safe medication use, diagnostic stewardship, and teamwork. Nursing staff also shared real-life case studies that highlighted how timely interventions ensured patient safety.
The program concluded with reaffirmation of JIMS Hospital’s commitment to ensuring safer care for every patient, especially newborns and children, in line with WHO’s global patient safety goals. The observance successfully enhanced staff awareness, renewed focus on preventive strategies, and strengthened collaboration between doctors, nurses, and caregivers in delivering safe and quality healthcare.
